Sand and Grit Removal
Sand and grit are the leading cause of problems in wastewater treatment facilities. Excess sand and grit robs the tank’s volume and efficiency, while raising operational costs due to higher electrical consumption, increased use of chemicals, premature wear and equipment failure on blowers, pumps, diffusers and internal piping. With the VGS, sand and grit can be removed without emptying the tank in most cases, in a timely and efficient manner that will return the water and biomass to the tank. Your plant can be running at peak efficiency without having to drain the tank and interrupt daily operations. Contact us for further details or information on this service
Before Sand and Grit Removal
After Sand and Grit Removal
Limited Access, No Catwalks, No Problem.
With our proprietary equipment, hard to access areas are no obstacle for us. We have no limit on the distance or the height that we can pump from.
In Service and Full of Water Sand and Grit Removal
Settled Solids Management is proud to offer the Vertical Grit Separator (VGS), our patented, portable, state-of-the-art degritting system that removes sand and grit from the bottom of most wastewater treatment tanks while the plant remains in service and full of water, with no interruption of daily operations.
Vegetation Removal
We can remove overgrown vegetation, duckweed, small trees and bushes from various tanks or ponds at your facility. Overgrowth can be unsightly and reduce efficiency. Contact us for further details or information on this service
Fresh Water Canals, Boat Slips, Flooded Storm Water Collection Boxes, Quilted or Concrete Bottom Ponds or Basins, Lined Ponds
Sand can be removed from:
- specified areas such as connecting canals between lakes to open up passing zones for boat passage or from land-locked canals in housing areas where access is limited or inaccessible with conventional dredging systems.
- boat slips or docking areas where boat activity is restricted due to sand build-up and where access with conventional dredging systems is unavailable.
- flooded storm water collection boxes where the water cannot be drained and the sand cannot be accessed for removal by conventional methods. Settled Solids Management, with its patented VGS system, can remove, separate and dewater the sand without having to remove the water.
- quilted or concrete bottom ponds or basins. Using the Settled Solids patented technology, we can remove the sand without draining the ponds or damaging the bottom.
Algae sludge can be removed from the bottom of lined or quilted ponds without draining or removing the water from the pond and without damaging the expensive liner or bottom.
